Home Goods Fulfillment

Home goods fulfillment for furniture, decor and housewares brands, from an asset-based 3PL near the Los Angeles ports. We devan floor-loaded containers, store bulky and fragile items, ship DTC and dropship orders, and deliver retail and wholesale orders with our own trucks.

Home goods fulfillment for bulky, fragile freight

Home goods don’t behave like t-shirts. Furniture, decor, kitchenware and housewares are bulky, oddly shaped or breakable, they usually arrive floor-loaded in ocean containers, and they sell through every channel at once: DTC parcels, marketplace dropship orders and pallets to big-box retailers.

QX Logistix has handled a lot of home goods over the years, from box-in, box-out retail programs to ecommerce and dropship. Our warehouses sit near the busiest container ports in the US, our own trucks handle the drayage, and our team is used to freight that needs a forklift and a careful hand.

Challenges we solve

Bulky & oversized items

Flat-pack furniture, rugs, lighting and other oversized products need real space and the right equipment. We store them in racked and floor locations sized for the product and move them with proper handling gear.

Fragile products

Glassware, ceramics and decor need careful handling. We pack fragile items to survive parcel networks and build pallets that arrive square and secure.

Container-heavy inbound

Most home goods arrive floor-loaded in 40-foot containers. We pull them from the port with our own trucks, then devan, sort and palletize them so inventory is ready to sell sooner.

How we handle home goods and furniture

Inbound containers are unloaded at our dock, sorted by SKU and checked for damage before anything goes into stock. We palletize floor-loaded freight, label it and put it away in locations that fit the product, from small housewares to bulky furniture cartons.

Orders are picked with barcode scanning in Extensiv and packed for the channel: protective packaging for parcel orders, retailer-compliant cartons and pallets for wholesale, and the retailer’s packing slips and labels for dropship.

From dock to doorstep

Our drivers pull home goods containers from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and deliver them to our Vernon and Commerce warehouses, 18 to 22 miles away. No third-party drayage carrier, and no waiting on appointments outside our control.

From the warehouse, parcel orders ship to consumers nationwide, retail orders go out by LTL and truckload, and local deliveries to stores and distribution centers across Southern California run on our own 26-foot box trucks.

Value-added services

Home goods programs often need extra work between the container and the customer, especially when you sell through big-box retailers and marketplaces.

We handle palletizing and re-palletizing, relabeling, kitting and bundling, and inspection of inbound goods, so products are ready for whichever channel sells them next. Need long-term or overflow space for a large import program? See our warehousing and storage options.
