Kitting services for brands that sell bundles, gift sets and subscription boxes, built in our Los Angeles warehouses. We receive your components, assemble kits to your spec and ship them to customers, Amazon or retail from the same building, so there’s no extra freight to a separate co-packer and no waiting on someone else’s schedule.

Why brands choose QX for kitting and assembly
Components arrive, kits get built and orders ship from the same Los Angeles building. Skipping the trip to a separate co-packer saves freight, handling and days on every launch.
Product drops, holiday gift sets and influencer campaigns can call for thousands of kits at once. Seven-day operations and about 286,000 sq ft across three LA-area buildings give us room for the surge.
Components and finished kits are tracked in our Extensiv WMS, so you can see what’s built, what’s on hand to build and when a component is about to run short.
We start from your bill of materials and an approved sample kit, so every unit goes out with the right components, inserts and packaging, whether it’s the first kit or the ten-thousandth.

How our kitting services work
Kitting means gathering separate items into one ready-to-ship unit: a gift set, a subscription box, a variety pack or a retail-ready bundle. It sounds simple until you’re building thousands of them against a launch date, with components arriving from different suppliers and every kit needing to match the approved spec.
We receive every component into our Extensiv WMS, set up the kit as its own SKU with a bill of materials, and build either ahead of demand or as orders come in. Finished kits ship from the same building to customers, Amazon or retail partners, and if a component runs low, you know before it holds up an order.
Pre-kitting or on-demand, your call
Pre-kitting means building kits in advance and storing them as finished goods. It works best for predictable sellers, launches and retail programs where speed at shipping time matters most. On-demand kitting builds each kit when the order arrives, which saves storage and keeps components flexible for brands with lots of combinations or personalized orders.
Most programs use a mix of both. We’ll look at your order history, SKU combinations and launch calendar and recommend the setup that keeps costs down without slowing shipments. Kits then flow into our ecommerce fulfillment and B2B and retail fulfillment like any other SKU.

Our kitting and assembly process

Everything handled under one roof
Because we run the warehouse and the trucks, your kitting program doesn’t stall between vendors. Components arriving by ocean container come straight from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach on our own drayage trucks, and finished kits leave by parcel, LTL or our own box trucks.
Kitting sits alongside the rest of our value-added services, like relabeling, inspection and custom packaging, and it’s a big part of our programs for beauty and cosmetics, supplement, apparel and home goods brands.
Frequently asked questions
Kitting services combine separate items into a single ready-to-ship unit, such as a gift set, subscription box or product bundle, before or as orders ship. A 3PL like QX Logistix receives the components, assembles kits to your spec, tracks them as their own SKUs and ships them to customers, Amazon or retailers.
In a warehouse, kitting is the process of picking the components that make up a kit, assembling them into one package and storing or shipping the finished unit. Done well, it cuts pick-and-pack time at the order stage and makes sure every customer receives the same complete set.
Kitting groups finished items into one package, like a skincare set or a variety pack. Assembly goes a step further and puts components together, such as attaching accessories or inserting parts into retail packaging. We handle kitting and light assembly, and for more involved builds we’ll scope the work with you before quoting.
Pre-kitting builds kits in advance and stores them ready to ship, which speeds up fulfillment for predictable sellers and launches. On-demand kitting builds each kit when the order arrives, saving storage and handling lots of variations. Many brands use both, and we’ll recommend a mix based on your order data.
Kitting is usually priced per kit or per component touch, based on how many items go into each kit, how complex the packing is and how many units you need. Setup for a new kit and any special packaging are quoted separately. Send us your bill of materials and volumes and we’ll price it.
Yes. We assemble bundles and multi-packs to Amazon’s FBA prep and labeling requirements, including marking sets so they aren’t separated, and ship them into Amazon fulfillment centers. Kits for Seller Fulfilled Prime and FBM orders ship directly from our warehouse.
Yes. We build retail-ready kits, multi-packs and promotional sets, then label and palletize them to each retailer’s routing guide. Local store deliveries go out on our own 26-foot box trucks, and longer lanes ship by LTL or truckload. See our B2B and retail fulfillment for the details.
